Catholic Life of the School
As our school mission statement says, “We walk in Jesus’ footsteps”, we ensure that whilst children are attending St. Anthony’s, we provide them with the opportunities to be like Jesus through daily acts and charitable work. We aim for the children to understand these values and continue to live their lives following Jesus’ footsteps after they leave St. Anthony’s. We ensure we work together with families, the Parish and the wider community to ensure children walk in Jesus’ footsteps.
At St. Anthony’s we aim to guide children through their religious journey, ensuring our ethos supports the spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs of all within the entire school community. We guide the children to strive towards living their lives following the Gospel values, the teachings of Jesus Christ, using His life as an example, and the Catholic Church. This is done through modelling these actions daily and supporting those who teach and work with the children with this endeavour. Our strong community of staff, parents, carers and the parish community work together to provide a safe, welcoming Christian atmosphere where all children can succeed by learning in His footsteps, serving in His footsteps and walking in His footsteps.
We have a rich tradition of prayer and liturgy with dailies act of worship for all children.
Our Collective Worship across the school week is organised as follows:
Monday – Whole school assembly (Sunday Gospel)
Tuesday – Class Assembly (parents invited) for whole school
Wednesday – Class Mass (parents invited) or class prayer and liturgy
Thursday – Class prayer and liturgy
Friday – Whole school celebration assembly
Harvest festival 2024
We gave thanks for the Harvest though a wonderful service in church with many of our families and parishioners coming to join the celebration.
Our Harvest donations were sent to the Salvation Army Food Bank to help support local people.
Thank you to all who helped out.
Mini-Vinnies Group
Our Mini-Vinnies group meets each week to put their faith into action. Their aim is to support people in the community; turning concern into action.
In November 2024 we hosted a coffee morning for parishioners after the 9.30am Mass and raised £90.00 for the SVP.
